Target Information
Bovine fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) is an intracellular lipid chaperone that is predominantly expressed in adipocytes and plays a pivotal role in lipid metabolism in cattle. It facilitates the transport of long-chain fatty acids to cellular organelles such as mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum, thereby regulating lipid homeostasis and energy balance. FABP4 is also implicated in the development of metabolic disorders and inflammation, making it a significant protein in the context of cattle health and production efficiency.
