Target Information
Rabbit PKM is a pivotal glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the final rate-limiting step of glycolysis: the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to pyruvate while generating ATP. In rabbits, this protein exists as multiple isoforms (M1 and M2) through alternative splicing. While the M1 isoform is constitutively active in high-energy tissues like skeletal muscle, the M2 isoform is highly regulated and plays a dual role as both a metabolic sensor and a nuclear transcriptional co-activator, significantly influencing cell proliferation and anabolic pathways.
