Target Information
Swine stromelysin-1 is a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) involved in tissue remodeling and repair. It is expressed in dermal fibroblasts and is crucial for restructuring the basement membrane and dermal matrix during wound healing. Stromelysin-1 may function alongside collagenase-3 in the repair process and is also produced in response to airway epithelial cell injury, suggesting a role in diverse epithelial repair.
