Target Information
Resistin, also known as adipose tissue-specific secretory factor (ADSF) or C/EBP-epsilon-regulated myeloid-specific secreted cysteine-rich protein (XCP1), is a cysteine-rich peptide hormone originating from adipose tissue. As an adipokine, resistin plays a crucial role in modulating monocytes, endothelial cells, and smooth muscle cells, contributing to the progression of atherosclerosis in the carotid artery of rabbits. RETN may be expressed in the adipose tissue of rabbits and influence their metabolic health and disease susceptibility by regulating metabolic signaling and inflammatory pathways.
