Target Information
Mouse tryptase beta 2 is a serine protease encoded by the Tpsab1 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 14. It belongs to the tryptase family of serine proteases, featuring a conserved catalytic triad, multiple disulfide bonds and a propeptide domain critical for activation. It localizes to mast cell secretory granules, with tissue-specific expression in mouse mucosal and connective tissue mast cells, absent in other immune or somatic cells. The protein forms tetrameric active complexes, with conserved motifs for substrate recognition and structural stability. Mouse tryptase beta 2 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct substrate specificity differentiating it from tryptase alpha and other serine protease family members.
