Target Information
Mouse autocrine motility factor receptor (AMFR) is a multi-functional transmembrane protein with conserved cytosolic and extracellular domains, a core regulator of intracellular protein trafficking and signaling. It features an N-terminal extracellular domain for ligand binding, a single transmembrane helix, and a C-terminal cytosolic region with E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. It localizes predominantly to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane of mouse fibroblasts, epithelial cells and immune cells, with negligible expression in terminally differentiated neuronal tissues. The protein mediates substrate ubiquitination and membrane protein turnover, with conserved structural motifs differentiating it from other E3 ligase-containing receptors.
