Target Information
Mouse integrin alpha X (ITGAX) is a transmembrane alpha subunit of the integrin family, forming heterodimers with ITGB2 to mediate cell adhesion and immune regulation. It features a conserved N-terminal ligand-binding domain, four epidermal growth factor-like repeats, a transmembrane segment, and a short cytoplasmic tail critical for structural integrity and signal transduction. It localizes to the cell membranes of mouse myeloid cells including macrophages, dendritic cells and neutrophils, with negligible levels in lymphocytes and non-immune tissues. The protein mediates leukocyte migration and phagocytosis, with conserved motifs for binding to complement fragments and extracellular matrix proteins. Mouse ITGAX shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct ligand selectivity differentiating it from ITGAM and ITGA2.
