Target Information
Mouse complement component 4a (C4a) is a 9 kDa anaphylatoxin released from the α-chain of C4 during classical and lectin pathway activation. It targets the C3a/C4a receptor (C3aR) on mast cells, macrophages and neutrophils, rapidly triggering calcium flux and chemotaxis that amplify innate inflammation. Its compact four-helix bundle and C-terminal arginine present a unique, species-restricted epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-C4a immunoreagents detect free C4a in plasma, peritoneal fluid and tissue homogenates without cross-reacting with intact C4 or C3a, providing a precise read-out of early complement activation.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
