Target Information

Mouse ribonuclease inhibitor (RNH1) is a cytosolic protein that shields RNA from unintended degradation. It targets pancreatic-type ribonucleases by forming an ultra-tight 1:1 complex that blocks their active sites, preventing cleavage of single-stranded RNA. RNH1 is abundant in liver, kidney and testis, where it preserves mRNA and rRNA integrity during stress or enzyme leakage from lysosomes. Its leucine-rich repeat structure provides a large, stable epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-RNH1 immunoreagents allow precise measurement of inhibitor levels without cross-reaction with ribonucleases or other LRR proteins.
