Target Information

Canine IL-6 is a multifunctional cytokine produced by various cells, including T cells and macrophages. It plays a key role in the acute-phase response and immune regulation. IL-6 binds to the IL-6 receptor (IL6R), activating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. This cytokine stimulates the production of acute-phase proteins in the liver and promotes B cell differentiation and antibody production. It also induces the expression of chemokines that attract immune cells to sites of inflammation. IL-6 is involved in both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses, depending on the context and cell type.
