Target Information

TGFBR1 is involved in multiple cellular processes, including cell growth, cell proliferation, cell differentiation, and apoptosis. It acts as a receptor for signaling ligands such as transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta). TGF-beta Receptor Type-1 is encoded by the TGFBR1 gene in pigs. This gene plays a key role in inherited disorders of cardiovascular, craniofacial, neurocognitive and skeletal development in mammals. It is a potential marker for swine breeding and selection programs.
