Mouse YY1 Transcription Factor (YY1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

YY1 (Yin Yang 1) is a multifunctional transcription factor with various biological roles in mice. It can regulate gene expression through activation, repression, or as a promoter-binding protein, with its function influenced by the promoter's environment, chromatin structure, and interacting proteins. Additionally, YY1 undergoes various post-translational modifications that differently impact its function. As a transcriptional repressor protein, YY1 is capable of both activating and repressing numerous cellular and viral genes by binding to sites that overlap the transcription start site. It targets the consensus sequence 5'-CCGCCATNTT-3', and certain genes have longer binding motifs that enhance YY1 binding. Methylation of the initial CG dinucleotide substantially decreases its binding affinity. YY1 is also known as the Delta transcription factor.
