Target Information

Peripheral myelin protein 2 (PMP2), also known as myelin P2 protein (MP2), is a small basic protein that plays a crucial role in the formation and stability of myelin in the peripheral nervous system. Myelin P2 Protein is encoded by the PMP2 gene in pigs. PMP2 is predominantly expressed in Schwann cells, which are responsible for myelin formation around peripheral nerves.
