Target Information
Rabbit GnRH is a decapeptide hormone synthesized by hypothalamic neurons and released into the hypophyseal portal system. It acts as the primary upward regulator of the reproductive axis by binding to the GnRH Receptor (GNRHR) in the anterior pituitary. This interaction triggers the release of Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH). In rabbits, which are induced ovulators, GnRH is a critical target for studying the neuroendocrine triggers of ovulation and developing synchronizing agents for assisted reproduction.
