Target Information

Trimethylamine-N-oxide (also known as TMAO), a metabolite produced by intestinal flora, has been closely linked to cardiovascular and other diseases. The functions of TMAO in mouse models suggest that it plays an important role in a variety of physiological and pathological processes. Its impact on brain aging, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, kidney health, and intestinal microbial ecology. Research indicates that TMAO can induce brain aging and age-related cognitive dysfunction in SAMR1 mice while exacerbating the cerebral aging process in SAMP8 mice.
