Mouse Thioredoxin Reductase 1 (TrxR1) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Thioredoxin Reductase 1 (TrxR1) reduces the disulfide form of thioredoxin (Trx) to its dithiol-containing state. It is a homodimeric flavoprotein that plays a role in regulating cellular redox reactions, growth, and differentiation. The enzyme contains a selenocysteine residue at its C-terminal active site, which is essential for its catalytic activity. TrxR1 also exhibits reductase activity on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In mice, TrxR1 performs multiple functions, including mitigating oxidative stress, regulating cell survival and death, participating in signal transduction, and influencing tumorigenesis. It is highly expressed in the mouse liver, particularly in the renal tubule medulla, where its mRNA is significantly present. In a mouse model of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, TrxR1 enhances the antigen presentation function of macrophages through the synergistic action of NQO1 and SET8.
