Target Information
Metalloreductase STEAP4 (also known as Tnfaip9) is an integral membrane protein that operates as a NADPH-dependent ferric-chelate reductase. It utilizes NADPH from one side of the membrane to reduce an Fe3+ chelate situated on the opposite side. The process involves a sequential transmembrane electron transfer, moving electrons from NADPH to FAD, then to heme, and ultimately to the Fe3+ chelate. STEAP4 has multiple functions in mice, including regulating iron and copper homeostasis, participating in inflammatory responses, affecting metabolic health, and promoting tumorigenesis.
