Target Information

Heat shock protein beta-8 (HSPB8) exhibits temperature-dependent chaperone activity and plays diverse biological roles in mice, including neuroprotection, regulation of autophagy, maintenance of mitochondrial function, and involvement in disease-related pathological processes. HSPB8 expression is positively associated with genes related to cell growth and apoptosis, and it can inhibit apoptotic effectors, thereby safeguarding neurons from damage. Furthermore, in a mouse model of brain injury induced by hypoxia/reoxygenation (OGD/R), HSPB8 demonstrates significant neuroprotective effects by reducing apoptosis through the induction of autophagy.
