Mouse Complement Factor B (CFB) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Complement factor B is an integral component of the alternative pathway of the complement system and is cleaved by factor D into two fragments: Ba and Bb. The Bb fragment, a serine protease, combines with complement factor 3b to form the C3 or C5 convertase. In mice, complement factor B serves multiple functions, including regulating the activation of the alternative pathway, participating in immune defense, protecting kidney function, influencing metabolic and cardiovascular health, maintaining nerve and auditory function, and regulating microbial ecology. It plays a significant role in immune defense. For instance, during acute pneumococcal infection in the mouse ear, the expression of CFB is markedly increased, participating in C3 activation and regulation, thereby enhancing pathogen clearance. Additionally, CFB-deficient mice exhibit reduced inflammatory responses in certain models, potentially due to the loss of their alternative pathway.
