Target Information
C-type lectin domain family 10 member A (CLEC10A) recognizes terminal galactose and N-acetylgalactosamine units and may be involved in interactions between tumoricidal macrophages and tumor cells. It plays a role in recruiting inflammatory monocytes to adipose tissue in cases of diet-induced obesity. CLEC10A is expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells (DCs) in mice, where it triggers calcium influx through ligand-induced endocytosis, stimulating mitochondrial ATP production and enhancing cell division capabilities. In mice, CLEC10A facilitates the differentiation of undifferentiated cells into mature immune cells by binding to the MGL2 ligand, thus expanding the innate immune system.
