Target Information
Adipogenin is involved in stimulating adipocyte differentiation and development. In mice, Adipogenin primarily regulates fat mass accumulation, leptin secretion, and adipocyte differentiation. Its absence results in reduced fat mass, decreased leptin secretion, and impaired adipocyte differentiation. Adig null mice exhibit significant weight loss and reduced adipose tissue mass under both normal and high-fat diet conditions. For instance, under a high-fat diet, wild-type mice gain weight slightly faster than Adig null mice, yet the final weight difference between the two groups is substantial. When analyzing adipose tissue weight, Adig null mice show significantly lower adipose tissue weight compared to wild-type mice, particularly in white adipose tissue such as abdominal and dorsal white adipose tissue.
