Target Information

Intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) are part of a multigene family with nearly twenty identified members. Fatty Acid Binding Protein 2 is encoded by the FABP2 gene in ducks. FABP2 encodes a 14-15 kDa intracellular protein that regulates directed fatty acid transport, metabolism, and other essential functions. It is also referred to as Intestinal-type fatty acid-binding protein (I-FABP).
