Target Information
Bovine Serpin family F member 2 is encoded by the SERPINF2 gene in cattle. It is also known as alpha 2-antiplasmin (alpha 2AP). It is a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) responsible for inactivating plasmin. Plasmin is an important enzyme that participates in fibrinolysis and degradation of various other proteins. Mature bovine alpha 2AP contains 470 residues and is 6 residues longer than human alpha 2AP.
