Target Information

Bovine hypocretin neuropeptide precursor (HCRT), also referred to as orexin-A, has been detected in the endocrine pancreas of domestic animals. This naturally occurring neuropeptide and orexin isoform holds significance in various physiological functions. Notably, the orexinergic nucleus within the lateral hypothalamus serves as the primary orexin projection system in the brain. HCRT plays a pivotal role in regulating food intake, sleep-wake cycles, arterial blood pressure, heart rate, and sexual behavior.
