Target Information

Bovine Septin-5 is encoded by the SEPTIN5 gene in cattle. It has been identified as an essential component in the regulation of presynaptic vesicle exocytosis. Septins are highly conserved across yeast, Drosophila, and mice, and they appear to play a role in cytoskeletal organization. Disruption of septin function can lead to disturbances in cytokinesis, resulting in large multinucleate or polyploid cells.
