Target Information
Bovine Glutathione Peroxidase 1 is encoded by the GPX1 gene in cattle. GPX1 is found in various tissues and is essential for overall health and well-being. This gene encodes a member of the glutathione peroxidase family. Glutathione peroxidase functions in the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide, and is one of the most important antioxidant enzymes. Research has shown that bovine mammary epithelial cells express GPx1 and GPx3 in vivo and in vitro.
