Target Information
Casein Kinase 2 Alpha 1 (CSNK2A1), also known as CK2α, is a serine/threonine protein kinase that phosphorylates acidic proteins such as casein. The CK2 holoenzyme exists as a tetramer composed of two catalytic α subunits (CK2α) and two regulatory β subunits. Bovine Casein Kinase II Subunit Alpha is encoded by the CSNK2A1 gene in cattle. This gene was mapped to known regions of conserved synteny between human and cattle.
