Target Information

Leukocyte cell-derived chemotaxin-2 (LECT2) has neutrophil chemotactic activity and positively regulates chondrocyte proliferation. In mice, LECT2 performs various functions related to metabolism, immunity, tumor progression, liver regeneration, neural development, and more. As a liver hormone, LECT2 senses fat accumulation and regulates insulin sensitivity in skeletal muscle. Research indicates that LECT2 influences insulin signaling via the JNK pathway, leading to insulin resistance and impaired signaling. In a bacterial sepsis model, LECT2 improves the survival rate of mice by enhancing the phagocytic and bactericidal activities of macrophages through activation of the CD209a receptor.
