Target Information

Carboxypeptidase B, also known as CPB, is a protease enzyme that hydrolyzes peptide bonds at the carboxy-terminal (C-terminal) end of a protein or peptide. Carboxypeptidase B cleaves positively charged amino acids such as arginine and lysine. It acts by removing amino acids from the C-terminus of proteins. Bovine Carboxypeptidase B is encoded by the CPB1 gene in cattle. It is associated with protein digestion and absorption in older cows.

Target/Biomarker Bovine CPB1
