Target Information

Bovine Aldehyde Oxidase 1, also known as azaheterocycle hydroxylase 1, is encoded by the AOX1 gene in cattle. It is a homodimeric protein, which produces hydrogen peroxide. AOX1 plays a role in metabolizing drugs containing aromatic azaheterocyclic substituents. Additionally, it is considered a candidate gene for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is involved in myogenesis and may play a role in muscle development in cattle.

Target/Biomarker Bovine AOX1
Target Synonym aldehyde oxidase 1; azaheterocycle hydroxylase 1
