Target Information
Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor Tie-1 is a transmembrane tyrosine-protein kinase that may influence TEK/TIE2 activity and play a role in regulating angiogenesis. In mice, Tie-1 primarily functions in vascular development, endothelial cell survival, and vascular stability. It is crucial for maintaining the integrity and survival of endothelial cells during embryonic development. Research indicates that Tie-1 gene knockout mouse embryos experience severe edema and microvascular rupture between 13.5 to 14.5 days of gestation, leading to death at 14.5 days. This demonstrates that Tie-1 is vital during vascular development, particularly in the angiogenesis stage of capillaries.
