Target Information

Monocyte chemotactic protein 2 (MCP-2), also known as C-C motif chemokine 8, is capable of attracting and activating monocytes and other white blood cells by binding to the CCR1 and CCR2B receptors. This interaction facilitates their migration and aggregation in inflammatory responses. For instance, research has demonstrated that MCP-2 exhibits notable chemotactic activity in mice, inducing monocyte migration akin to human MCP-1 and MIP-3. MCP-2's ability to simultaneously bind to CCR1 and CCR2B receptors allows it to perform diverse functions across different cell types. In various disease models, MCP-2's function is closely linked to disease progression.
