Target Information

Bifidobacterium dentium is a species within the genus Bifidobacterium, a group of branched anaerobic bacteria belonging to the Bifidobacteriaceae family. While B. dentium can be a source of anaerobic infections, it is also used in tracking fecal contamination in polluted water. Additionally, B. dentium is a member of the gut flora, colonizing the intestinal mucus layer where it produces acetate.
