Target Information

18-Hydroxycortisol is a naturally occurring steroid and a metabolite of cortisol, which has been suggested as a biomarker for certain diseases. In healthy individuals, its production is low. The synthesis of 18-hydroxycortisol can occur through the action of 11-beta hydroxylase in the zona fasciculata.
