Specifications
Target Information
Inositol Triphosphate is an inositol phosphate signaling molecule. IP3 is generated by the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2), a phospholipid located in the plasma membrane. The enzyme responsible for this hydrolysis is phospholipase C (PLC). IP3 acts as a second messenger molecule in signal transduction within biological cells. Research has shown that a microinjection of IP3 to the cytoplasm of in vitro matured pig oocytes induced parthenogenetic activity.
