Target Information
Rabbit Matrix Metalloproteinase 10 (MMP10), also known as Stromelysin-2, is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family. It is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix, including proteoglycans and fibronectin. In rabbits, MMP10 is involved in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and inflammation. It can also activate pro-collagenase, which is essential for collagen degradation. MMP10 is expressed in various tissues and is particularly important in processes such as embryonic development and tissue repair. Its activity is regulated by tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs), which can inhibit MMP10 to control its effects on the extracellular matrix.
