Target Information
Mouse Fibroleukin (Fgl2) is a protein with dual functions. It exists in two forms: membrane-bound (mFgl2) and soluble (sFgl2). mFgl2 acts as a prothrombinase, initiating coagulation without activating the blood clotting cascade. sFgl2 functions as an immunosuppressor, inhibiting T cell proliferation and dendritic cell maturation. Fgl2 is involved in various physiological processes such as embryo development, sperm maturation, and immune regulation. It is also implicated in diseases like viral infections and cancer. In mouse models, Fgl2 deficiency has been associated with pregnancy failure and increased immune responses. Fgl2 is expressed in multiple tissues including the heart, lung, liver, and kidney, and its expression is tightly regulated.
