Target Information

Mouse Ectonucleoside Triphosphate Diphosphohydrolase 1, or ENTPD1, is an ectonucleotidase that regulates extracellular nucleotide levels and immune responses. In mouse models, ENTPD1 is studied for its roles in inflammation and immune-related diseases. ENTPD1 hydrolyzes extracellular ATP and other nucleotides to generate adenosine, which can exert anti-inflammatory effects through adenosine receptors. This enzyme is expressed on various immune cells, including regulatory T cells and macrophages, and its activity is crucial for the resolution of inflammation. In autoimmune diseases, dysregulation of ENTPD1 activity has been associated with prolonged inflammatory responses and tissue damage. Targeting ENTPD1 to modulate extracellular nucleotide signaling represents a potential therapeutic approach for treating inflammatory and immune-mediated disorders.
