Target Information
Goat E-selectin is a cell adhesion molecule expressed on endothelial cells, which plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response and immune system of goats. It is involved in the process of leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation by mediating the adhesion of leukocytes to the endothelium. E-selectin recognizes glycoproteins or glycolipids on the surface of leukocytes, promoting leukocyte tethering, rolling, and transmigration. This protein is rapidly upregulated upon activation by proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α and IL-6, making it a key player in the initiation and progression of inflammation. In goats, E-selectin is essential for the immune response against pathogens and the regulation of immune cell trafficking to areas of infection or tissue damage.
