Target Information

Feline pro-epidermal growth factor (EGF) is a key member of the EGF superfamily, stimulating the growth of various epidermal and epithelial tissues both in vivo and in vitro. It promotes cellular proliferation, differentiation, and survival by binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) with high affinity and activating its intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity. This process triggers a signal transduction cascade that leads to biochemical changes within the cell, ultimately resulting in DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. EGF also plays an important physiological role in maintaining the integrity of oral, esophageal, and gastric tissues.
