Target Information
Chicken LIM/homeobox Protein Lhx3 (LHX3) is a transcription factor belonging to the LIM-homeodomain family, which plays a crucial role in embryonic development and tissue differentiation. LHX3 contains two LIM domains and a homeodomain, both of which are essential for DNA binding and transcriptional regulation. In chickens, LHX3 is highly expressed in developing tissues, particularly in the nervous system and endocrine organs, where it regulates the formation and function of these structures. Abnormal expression of LHX3 has been implicated in various developmental disorders and diseases, including pituitary hormone deficiency and combined pituitary hormone deficiency.
