Target Information
Chicken Dynactin Subunit 1 (DCTN1) is a key component of the dynactin complex, which is crucial for intracellular transport and cell division. DCTN1, also known as p150-glued, is the largest subunit of the dynactin complex and acts as a bridge between dynein and microtubules, facilitating the transport of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. In chickens, DCTN1 is involved in various cellular functions, including ER-to-Golgi transport, the centripetal movement of lysosomes and endosomes, spindle formation, chromosome movement, nuclear positioning, and axonogenesis. Abnormal expression or mutations in DCTN1 can lead to neurodegenerative diseases and other disorders.
