Target Information
Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) belongs to the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) superfamily of proteins. It plays a crucial role in the development of bone and cartilage. In horses, bone morphogenetic protein 2 is encoded by the BMP2 gene. BMP2 is a chondrogenic growth factor that may be responsible, at least in part, for the progression of degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis in horses.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with dry ice. It is recommended to aliquote as needed and store at -20°C upon receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4°C for 1 week, at < -20°C for 3 months.
Documents
The product is for research use only.
Not for commercial, prophylactic, diagnostic, or therapeutic applications.
User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 50 mM Acetic Acid. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration < 100 μg/mL. Aliquote the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
