Target Information
Bovine interleukin 15 (IL15) is a cytokine that plays a significant role in the immune system of cattle, particularly in the development and function of natural killer (NK) cells and T cells. IL15 is involved in the regulation of inflammatory responses and has been shown to promote cellular senescence and contribute to tissue fibrosis in certain conditions. This protein is expressed by various cell types, including myeloid cells, and is known for its ability to stimulate the proliferation and survival of immune cells, enhancing their cytotoxic activity against pathogens and tumors. IL15 also contributes to the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases and has been implicated in the regulation of tissue repair and B cell homing. The unique characteristics of IL15, including its wide expression, regulated secretion, and trans-presentation, make it a potential target for immunotherapy and the treatment of various diseases in cattle.
