Target Information

Rat apolipoprotein A4 (ApoA4) is a 46-kDa apolipoprotein predominantly synthesized in rat small intestinal enterocytes and secreted into chylomicrons. It associates with high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) in plasma, regulating lipid metabolism by facilitating triglyceride transport and reverse cholesterol transport. Beyond lipid homeostasis, it modulates satiety signaling via central nervous system interactions and enhances intestinal barrier integrity. Critical for rat metabolic balance, energy regulation, and mucosal health, its dysregulation links to dyslipidemia, obesity, and intestinal inflammation. As a multifunctional mediator of lipid metabolism and metabolic signaling, rat ApoA4 is a key target for studying metabolic disorders, lipid biology, and gastrointestinal physiology.
