Target Information
Mouse plexin B1 is a transmembrane receptor encoded by the Plxnb1 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 3. It belongs to the plexin family of semaphorin receptors, featuring conserved extracellular SEMA domain, multiple PSI and IPT motifs, a single transmembrane segment and intracellular GTPase-activating protein domain. It localizes to cell membrane, with tissue-specific expression in mouse neurons, vascular endothelial cells, epithelial cells and immune cells, with low levels in muscle tissues. The protein mediates cell guidance and morphological regulation, with conserved motifs critical for ligand binding and downstream interaction. Mouse plexin B1 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct ligand specificity differentiating it from plexin A and C family members.
