Target Information

Mouse GAD1 is an intracellular pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme with conserved catalytic substrate-binding domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. This protein localizes to cytoplasmic compartments of inhibitory neuronal cell populations within central nervous tissues. Its neural-enriched cytosolic enzymatic architecture and brain-restricted expression distinguish it from transmembrane surface receptors, soluble secreted signaling factors and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
