Mouse OAS1 is an intracellular interferon-inducible enzyme with conserved nucleotidyltransferase catalytic domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. This protein resides in the cytoplasmic compartment of immune and somatic cell populations. Its cytosolic enzymatic architecture and innate immune-triggered expression separate it from transmembrane receptors, secreted circulating cytokines and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
