Target Information
Mouse cholinergic receptor, nicotinic, alpha 2 (CHRNA2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that forms ligand-gated ion channels, mainly expressed in the nervous system. It consists of extracellular ligand-binding domains, four transmembrane helices, and intracellular regulatory segments. This protein localizes to the plasma membrane of neurons and assembles into homo- or heteromeric receptor complexes. Its distinct channel architecture and neural distribution separate it from other cholinergic and ionotropic receptors.
