Mouse BCOR is a nuclear transcriptional corepressor with conserved protein-binding domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It accumulates within nuclear compartments of immune, epithelial and mesenchymal cell populations and assembles into chromatin-modifying complexes. Its multi-domain nuclear regulatory structure and tissue-selective abundance differentiate it from secreted signaling cytokines, membrane-bound cell surface receptors and cytoplasmic scaffold proteins with simplified single-domain assemblies showing broad expression across general somatic cell lineages.
